Paul J. Stugart, M.S., NASM-CPT

Paul J. Stugart, M.S. NASM-CPT has been involved in the fitness industry since 1990 where he started working at Nautilus Health and Racquet Club, Williampsort PA.  He graduated from Lock Haven University with a Major in Fitness Management and completed his Masters degree from the University of Pittsburgh in Exercise Physiology.  He started personal training in 1994, and a year later started VYGOR Professional Fitness Consulting with 2 locations, South Hills and Shadyside.  In 1998 he opened VYGOR Fitness + Nutrition, his first full service Fitness Club in Bloomfield, PA.   In 2003,  he opened a 2nd location with his wife Lisa, in Glenshaw PA.  Currently working on opening 3rd in the Fall of 2011.

In the over 20 years of Training clients Paul has developed a unique style and ability to guide be individuals to achieve maximum fitness and performance in a variety of disciplines.  He has extensive experience and success assisting people with weight loss and maintenance, as well as training athletes to maximize performance while remaining injury free.  He is a Level I Rowing Coach and has trained numerous competitive Masters, High School and Collegiate and Nationally Ranked Rowers.    He has taken athletes to national level, including a a player who after 2 years training became the youngest player on the USA Sled Hockey team and Fitness Competitor who who Miss Pennsylvania and competeted in the Fitness USA in California.

Paul is a competive Adventure Racer, Ultra Trail Runner and Mountain biker and has the knowledge and experience to develop conditioning plans to take any individual to the next level.

3rd Place — Endorphin Fix 72 Hour Adventure Race – 72 Hours, 5 hours of sleep, 175 Miles of Mountain Biking, 75 Miles of Trail Running, 30 Miles of White Water Raftaing and Canoeing, 45,000 vertical feet - Raised $25,000 for Family Resources – Western PA’s largest Non Profit for the Fight against Child Abuse.

1st Place –Extreme 8 Hour Adventure Race — minus 8 degrees at start; 3 degrees at finish.  40 Miles of Mountain Biking, 20+ Miles of Trail Running, Navigation all on Frost Bitten Feet

2nd Place — Black Beard 12 Hour Adventure Race — 8 Miles of Beach Running, 8 Miles of Ocean Kayaking, 20 Miles of Mountain Biking, Rappel from top of 200 ‘ hotel

1st Place — 24 Hour Yough Extreme Adventure Race

2nd Place — 12 Hour Yough Extreme Adventure Race

Completed — Highlands Sky 41 mile trail Run — 41 miles of Rocks, Mud and anywhere from 2″-12″ of standing/flowing water from torrential rains before and during the race

Competed and placed in numerous mountain bike, road bike and running races over the last 10 Years
